UX/UI design
Mastering neo-brutalism for high conversion rates
9 min read

Bold borders and loud colors aren't just for show. Discover the psychology behind high-impact functional design.
The objection to loud design is always the same: it will not convert. In practice the opposite keeps happening, and the reason is boring — people click what they can find.
Affordance beats elegance
A button with a 3px border and a hard offset shadow reads as pressable from across the room. A tinted rectangle with 4px of blur does not. Every millisecond a user spends deciding whether something is interactive is a millisecond of friction you chose.
Hierarchy you can see at arm's length
Squint at your page. If more than one thing survives, you have not made a decision. One primary action per view, at a size that is slightly uncomfortable.
Where loud goes wrong
Two competing accent colours on the same screen
Body copy styled as aggressively as headings
Motion on elements that are not interactive
A fair test
Run it against your current page for two weeks with the same copy. Change the visual weight only. If the loud version does not win, your offer is the problem, not your design.
